Change of classification of Boric acid and its salts (press)
The 30th adaptation of Annex I of 67/548/EEC will cause a change in classification for some of our raw materials. Boric acid salts like boric acid, disodium salt (CAS 1330-43-4) will get a new more severe classification.
Actual classification: /
New classification: T R60-61 S53-45
Toxic. May impair fertility. May cause harm to the unborn child. Avoid exposure-obtain special instructions before use. In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible).
Consequences:
1/ When this adaptation of the Directive comes into force (2007?), our mentioned products will become CMR-products (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, Reprotoxic) which mean they will become according to Japanese Green Policy C1-products. This means that we need to phase these raw materials out.
2/ Furthermore all our preparations which contain more than 1.00% of above mentioned compounds need to be labeled with this undesirable R60-61 and this toxic label.
3/ Most important: these new sights learn us that these products are not so safe for our operators !
