We nemen je ook niks kwalijk. Alleen, dit kan op een forum niet verholpen worden, hier moet je echt gewoon andere hulp voor zoeken.

Taalgevoel kan je kweken. Lees je wel eens boeken in het Engels? Luister je wel eens naar Engelse radio (BBC World Service bijvoorbeeld)? Kijk je wel eens een film met Engelse ondertitels in plaats van Nederlandse?

Het is niet zo dat je taalgevoel daar van de ene op de andere dag beter wordt, maar na een aantal maanden/jaren merk je het verschil zeker. Het helpt je dus niet voor deze opdracht, maar voor bijvoorbeeld je examen kan je er veel profijt van hebben.

Kan er echt niet aan doen, maar ik heb geen taalgevoel. Ik heb er al een dag aan bezig geweest om het te maken.

Ik ben het met Jan van de Velde eens. Dit is dermate steenkolenengels dat het zelfs niet lijkt op lopende zinnen. De eerste zin bijvoorbeeld:

Als je dit op dezelfde manier in het Nederland zou zeggen zou het klinken als: "Koningin Elizabeth aftreden, zij gaan vanaf 2013 op pensioen". Vroeger lieten we indianen in verhaaltjes zo praten.

Ik zou contact opnemen met de leraar en vragen hoe je je Engels kunt verbeteren, want zo zie ik er geen gat in.

Wat mij opvalt is dat deze teksten meer letterlijke woord-voor-woord vertalingen lijken. Grammatica (zoals woordvolgorde in een zin) lijkt eerder Nederlands dan Engels, en veel idioom lijkt ook uit het Nederlands te stammen. Die eerste zin loopt al niet lekker. Wat wil je er eigenlijk mee zeggen?

Het werkwoord pensioneren kun je beter vertalen als [i]'to retire'[/i]. Verder schrijf je rumour[b]s.[/b] [i]''There have been a lot of rumours concerning the abdication of the Queen[/i]'' zou een beter alternatief zijn voor de tweede zin. Vervolgens kun je zoiets zeggen als [i]''Finally, clarity seems to have arisen''[/i], in plaats van [i]''...and that happens now''[/i].

Ik weet niet of je het weet, maar bij een spreekoefening hoor je de spelfouten, bijvoorbeeld bij je vraag in het 2de onderwerp vergeet je -s:

"Who take[b][size=150]s [/size][/b][size=150][size=4]t[/size][/size][size=150][size=3][size=4]he tasks of David Cameron over?"[/size][/size][/size]
