Scriptieonderwerp economie

Hey,

Kan iemand mij misschien helpen aan een interessant onderwerp/probleemstelling voor mijn scriptie? Ik doe de opleiding international economics and business (WO). Het onderzoek moet grofweg aan de volgende eisen voldoen:

- onderwerp/probleemstelling moet betrekking hebben op een internationaal economisch verschijnsel

- het moet een empirisch onderzoek worden

- iets origineels zou leuk zijn

Een goed voorbeeld is: wat doet de groei van de Chinese economie met de werkgelegenheid in Nederland.. (helaas is zoiets al 100.000 keer onderzocht) Maar op de een of andere manier vind ik het lastig om zelf iets leuks te verzinnen. Dus ik hoop dat iemand meer inspiratie heeft dan ik!

Een tijd geleden wilde ik mij verdiepen in de verschillende takken en richtingen van de economie. Ik ben toen wat op het internet aan het zoeken geweest. Op een gegeven moment had ik duizenden bestandjes met interessante onderzoeken en theoretische beschouwingen op mijn computer staan. Toen heb ik alles gewist om niet knettergek te worden. Moraal van dit verhaal: een volstrekt origineel economisch onderwerp is nagenoeg onmogelijk. Wel is het zo dat buiten de gebaande paden veel interessants gaande is:

Maar op de een of andere manier vind ik het lastig om zelf iets leuks te verzinnen.

Ik heb wel iets voor je. Een taaie kluif, maar als je in je scriptie een aspect hiervan belicht, en daarmee aangeeft oog te hebben voor de aktuele ontwikkelingen, dan kun je bijzonder goed afstuderen.

De opdracht luidt: onderbouw of ontkracht de boodschap in het volgende artikeltje:

We know we will read over the next months and even years, especially if economic problems get worse, of dire predictions about people being herded into prison camps and other containment facilities because society itself is facing a breakdown. The stories will focus on the lack of basic amenities such as food, water and shelter and deal with formerly middle class people who are on the edge of starvation now.

There is only one solution, in our estimation, to the current dilemma faced by the power elite. They will likely have to take a step back - or at least consider one seriously - just as they did when the Gutenberg press started to bite. If and when they do, in our estimation, much would change.
