survival chance after jumping from the golden gate bridge

hi everyone
I am really lost as in how to solve my physics problem.
I have to answer the question. what is your survival chance after you jump from the golden gate bridge.
From how high can you jump in the water and still survive?
I have done some research and have multiple remarks and ideas:
-the surface tension does not play a part? because this was tested by mythbusters. they tested the myth of breaking the surface tension with a hammer right before you hit the water would save you but it makes no difference.
-so what does determine wheither you survive the impact?
- the g-force maybe and but that only includes the gravitation force and your acceleration. what about your position entering the water?
- also i have read somewhere that the reason you die when falling from a high place into the water is because the energy of you fall and then the energy of the water moving is higher then the energy binding your body together?
all these different things make me confused as for what exactly now determines your survival chance and how you can calculate that.
please help
thanks :-)
