Is dit correct? Het boek Atomic Habit zegt dat wij 11 miljoen sensorische receptoren hebben. Klopt dat?

In het enorm populair boek, over gewoontes aan- en afleren, genaamd 'Atomic Habits' van James Clear staat:
"The human body has about eleven million sensory receptors. Approximately ten million of those are dedicated to sight."

Ik vroeg mij af of dit correct is en heb de bron erbij gezocht. De bron is het boek: 'Strangers to Ourselves: Discovering the Adaptive Unconscious' van Timothy D. Wilson, p.24.

Hierin staat op p.24:
"Consider that at any given moment, our five senses are taking in more than 11,000,000 pieces of information. Scientists have determined this number by counting the receptor cells each sense organ has and the nerves that go from these cells to the brain. Our eyes alone receive and send over 10,000,000 signals to our brains each second."

Mijn vraag: Zijn jullie het er ook mee eens dat het boek Atomic Habits deze informatie verkeerd heeft gebruikt?

Atomic Habits spreekt over 'sensorische receptoren' en Strangers to Ourselves spreekt over 'pieces of information' en 'signals to our brain per second'. Dit zijn toch twee verschillende dingen?
