Het voordeel van het maken van foton-paren is dat ze identiek zijn (of een verschil in energie dat te bereken is) zo kun je dus het met het ene foton iets 'meten' en het dan vergelijken met het andere foton zodat je precies weet wat er is gebeurt met het foton, en je nauwkeurig kunt meten.
